Wellness Coach & Founder of WEM Consulting
I am a wellness coach, facilitator, public speaker and yoga instructor. My primary focus is coaching clients seeking a deeper connection with Self and to discern and implement lifestyle changes that manifest mind, body, spirit wellness. I see clients in both one-on-one and group settings. I do this work, primarily with women and girls, because I believe a woman grounded in Self-knowledge has the potential to be an unstoppable powerhouse. Though my heart lies in working with women, I am open to working with anyone seeking to step into their higher Self.
What is your methodology and style?
My style focuses on cultivating “The Trifecta” or mind, body, spirit wellness. This is the foundation upon which all sustainable successes are built. When we nurture ourselves in all three of these areas, we are more apt to be disciplined, motivated, focused and positive. We make overall healthier life decisions.
When did you know that this is what you wanted to do? How did you discover it?
In 2015, I was navigating early sobriety. As the fog lifted, I discovered I had no idea who I was or what I wanted out of life. Recovery had, without my permission, brought me to the path of Self discovery.
One day I got the idea to ask other women about their own experiences. What was meant to be a small dinner party at my apartment morphed into a three hour facilitated “workshop” in a nearby downtown conference room. I had no agenda. I asked one question “what’s it like to be you in 2016”. What happened in that room opened my eyes to my purpose – to hold space for women to take off their masks. What was meant to be a one time thing turned out to be everything I’d been searching for. That day, The Women’s Empowerment Movement (WEM) was born.
What do you wish other people knew about what you do?
Mind, body, spirit wellness sets the stage for a healthy frame of mind and a deep Self knowledge. This work of knowing ourselves deeply is important because it allows us to not waste time chasing dreams that do not truly align with who we are. When we understand who we are and what we value, we have a better grasp on why we want what we want. Our roadmap to success becomes less cluttered. We are less overwhelmed, prioritization becomes easier and our goals more attainable.
What is the most rewarding part of what you do?
I love “aha moments” – when the light turns on and clients begin to see that not only is the world full of endless possibilities, but that they have access to those possibilities.
How could someone’s life benefit from what you offer?
The greatest benefits to my clients is a higher sense of and connection with Self. Working with me isn’t just about getting that next big promotion or increasing the size of your bank account. Yes, we move toward goal achievement. I want to see you win! This work is about building a big beautiful balanced life from the inside out. Until we are okay on the inside, anything we achieve externally will never be enough.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by those seeking to ignite the spark that lies deep within them.
Testimonials for Shay
I went to my first WEM workshop last Saturday and was affected more deeply than I had anticipated. I left instantly feeling new clarity in how I’ve been mismanaging my priorities and set out to change my approach that weekend. Just a few days later and I am already feeling more calm in my resolution to accomplish my goals and stick to the priorities I know are most important to me and that I can accomplish or make significant headway on.
Aside from my personal clarity, I also appreciated the security I felt in the room with the other women in attendance and made some great connections while in community with them. I highly recommend WEM to any woman, whether looking for a quick boost of clarity or more long-term guidance.
Shay, thank you for the a-m-a-z-i-n-g workshop! It was a real turning point for me, truly inspirational. I feel like I have been given a map to start a new journey of self-discovery.
I went to “Her – Past, Present, Future”, and it was so eye-opening! The journal questions/prompts and conversations with other women at the workshop helped me connect the dots, and I truly was inspired to shift my thinking and actions in the direction I really want to go. Thank you for this powerful work!
I feel so much less alone than I did on the drive over here. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one thinking about these things.
