Yoga Instructor & Owner of Själl Yoga
I began practicing yoga at a time in my life where I needed a lot of healing, but didn’t know where, how, or what kind I actually needed. One of the first classes I took, at Shefayoga in Seattle, the teacher described the Yoga practice and our physical bodies as Home. I had spent the previous 5 years living in so many different places without any time to build roots, so the idea that my own body and the practice of Yoga could be a constant place of Home for me brought me to tears. With about 6 years of practice and now 3 years of teaching, I feel a deep sense of purpose to share and cultivate the feeling of Home with my students through the practice I offer. I believe that we all need space in our lives to heal and I am filled with pride and motivation to keep moving forward when I see those “A-ha” moments in my students – the moments when they learn something from their bodies that they may not have experienced without practicing Yoga. The concepts I explore in my classes, through mantra and intention, are both personal and universal, because I believe the most universal truths exist within each of us individually, and we are at our best when we explore them together.
