Describe what you do and also WHY you do it?

I consider myself a movement educator. I have trained in several modalities and I use them to help people feel better in their bodies. I believe in educating people about their bodies so they can be empowered to take an active role. I work with people of various backgrounds from rehab clients, hikers, runners, the average person who just wants to feel better, to dancers and athletes, anyone with a body who wants to know more about it and how to feel better in it. I want to support people to uncover their best self. To learn to be & live in your body in the best way for you. Teaching you about your own body and finding ways to more efficiently excel at whatever activities YOU love to do. It’s all about sustainability, continuing to do what you love throughout your life.

What is your methodology and style?

I have been teaching movement since I was 17, starting with Ballet. I am a fully trained STOTT Pilates instructor with specialty training in injury & special populations and athletic conditioning. I am trained in Yamuna Body Rolling and Foot Fitness. I am an E-200 RYT & YACEP Yoga instructor and a Fascia Movement Instructor. I have studied anatomy and kinesiology extensively, as well as many other modalities. When working one on one I tailor the individual session to meet the needs and goals of that person. In a group setting my focus is bringing education, awareness & balance to the body. I feel it is important to educate students about their bodies and empower them to take an active role in developing a strong, supple, balanced, injury-free body.

When did you know that this is what you wanted to do? How did you discover it?

I started dancing at a young age and continued through college and after. When I stopped dancing and teaching dance I naturally gravitated to other movement areas. Having multiple injuries from dance and several car accidents has certainly influenced me to pursue alternative education to help heal myself, get out of pain, and to help others to recover and to feel better in their bodies.

What do you wish other people knew about what you do?

What is Yamuna Body Rolling?!? It is an amazing technique you can do with as a one on one session in a class or workshop or at home! It is a combo of self-massage, bone stimulation, fascia work & realignment with some strength building. What is super amazing about the work is it is meant for students to do at home or anywhere. It is a powerful tool for people to learn about their bodies and to be able to work on themselves and help make progress on their own.

How could someone’s life benefit from what you offer?

Better alignment, less stress, more ease in your body, stronger, better at actives you love, able to do activities you love more and longer through your life, heightened body awareness, fewer injuries, faster recovery, and just good old fashioned feeling good.
